Can I still install gas ducted heating in Melbourne?

Replacement and unit swaps in existing gas homes, yes. Victoria is phasing out gas in new residential construction (the ban expands to all new builds from January 2027), but existing homes can still replace what they have. Most of our gas ducted work is replacement of failed units in established homes that already run on gas. If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, send through the address and we will let you know what is allowed before quoting.

Do I have to replace the ductwork or can I keep what I have?

Often the ductwork can stay. If the existing ducts are in good condition, correctly sized for the replacement unit, and not crushed or leaking at the joints, a unit-only swap is the simpler and cheaper path. Where the ducts have reached the end of their life we will tell you straight rather than putting a new heater on tired ducts and watching it run harder than it should. We check the ductwork during the quote rather than waiting until install day.
