Airtouch turns a standard ducted system into a properly zoned one. Instead of conditioning the whole house from a single thermostat, each room or zone can run independently. The lounge and kitchen on, the bedrooms off during the day. The bedrooms on at night, the rest of the house off. Set it once and it runs to schedule, or change it from the wall controller or the app.

A Better Way To Run A Ducted System

A standard ducted system runs the whole house from one set point. That is fine for a home where every room is occupied at the same time. It wastes capacity when half the rooms are empty.
Airtouch fixes that. Each zone runs on its own temperature and its own schedule. You can set the bedrooms to cool down before bed and the living areas to warm up before dinner, all from one controller.

For new installs we wire the controller in as part of the standard install. For existing systems we confirm compatibility before we quote and commission the zones once it is in.

When Airtouch Makes Sense

Two situations where Airtouch earns its keep:

New ducted install. If you are putting in ducted heating or cooling, adding Airtouch at install time is the cheapest it will ever be. The controller is wired in with the rest of the system and the zones are designed from the start.

Existing compatible ducted system. If your current ducted system is set up for zoning, Airtouch can be retrofitted. We confirm compatibility before we quote, because not every ducted system supports it.

The systems we install Airtouch with most often are reverse cycle electric ducted and ducted air conditioning. Gas ducted heating supports zoning on some setups, and we will tell you which side your system falls on before you commit.

What We Install

Airtouch 5 is the current version. It runs the wall controller, the app, and the per-zone control from one platform. We supply, install, wire and commission. If you already have a ducted system and you are adding Airtouch to it, we confirm compatibility and pricing before we book the job.

Can Airtouch be added to my existing ducted system?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Airtouch needs a compatible ducted system underneath it, with zoning capability in the system itself. The simplest way to check is to send us the make and model of your current ducted unit. We will confirm compatibility and give you a price before any work starts. If it is not compatible we will tell you, rather than quoting something that will not work.

Do I need Airtouch or will the standard ducted controller do?

Standard ducted controllers run the whole system from one set point. Airtouch runs each zone independently. If the whole house is occupied at the same time and you are happy with one temperature throughout, standard is fine. If the home has clear zones (bedrooms and living, or upstairs and downstairs, or rooms used at different times), Airtouch usually pays for itself in comfort and running costs. We will give you an honest read on your home rather than upselling.
